We Found Our Place To Thrive – Will You?

Lieza Akhtar- Recruitment Consultant

After University I worked as a Philosophy and Religion Teacher. During my degree I had actually completed some Teaching Assistant work through Teaching Personnel before going on to train so I knew a little about the Company.

I was attracted to join by the progressive opportunity to develop my career quickly based on meritocracy and actually my career has already progressed further than I initially anticipated! I am continually encouraged to go further which is great. I would potentially like to move into a management role in the future.

I found the selection process for the role gave me the opportunity to meet other people working in the office, a real idea of what I could expect to be doing and the kind of team I would be joining, if successful. I really like the culture of teamwork and the attitude which is promoted amongst all staff.

Ryan – Regional Manager

“I joined Teaching Personnel in 2013 after decided a PGCE/teaching wasn’t for me, coming from a family of Educators it was always the plan but that changed after university. I fell into sales and then recruitment with TP after my current line manager found my CV online and thought I may be suitable for the job. I quickly began researching the company and found out the scale of the business and prepared myself well for the interview process, joining initially as a Recruitment Resourcer focusing just on Educators and supporting consultants, I quickly made the jump up to a full 360 Recruitment Consultant role and have been very fortunate to progress to my current role as Senior Regional Manager for the North West and our Permanent Recruitment team.

The most enjoyable aspect of education recruitment is seeing the value of your commitment to schools, staffing is an issue for many schools and being able to support them and fulfil their requirements is extremely satisfying. Internally developing others and seeing them progress and gain promotions each quarter is also a great motivator for myself, TP have an extremely clear and progressive Career Ladder which is simply determined by your results… If you work hard and listen to guidance you are highly likely to be successful and move through the ranks here.

This is a fast paced industry and you need to have resilience, tenacity and the ability to think on your feet and find solutions. Recruitment is a very cut throat world but Teaching Personnel are driven by our commitment to quality, passion for education and developing our Consultants and managers. If the idea of education recruitment & Teaching Personnel appeals to you, my best advice is to do your research and learn more about the market, what we do specifically and how you can play a part in supporting schools.”

Lewis – South England NTP Lead

After working for Teaching Personnel as a Teaching Assistant for three years I was looking for a new challenge and was excited by the opportunity to join Teaching Personnel as a Recruitment Consultant.  The main attraction for me was being able to pass on knowledge to candidates who are in the same place that I was in, whilst also continuing my work within the Education sector, but with career progression opportunities.

I was employed to be a Consultant in the Cornwall Secondary and SEN Branch under a strong supportive Manager (Hayley Hoyle) where I was given the opportunity to support local schools in mid Cornwall. After doing this for two years, I was entrusted to be the NTP Manager for the SW which covered, Bristol, Devon and Cornwall. We had such a huge year reaching over 2200 students within this patch the company decided to build an entire branch based on NTP/School Led Tuition. I was lucky enough to obtain the position of South England NTP Lead, where I now enable and support four others doing the role I did the previous year, but covering a larger area that includes London, Kent, the South coast and the Southwest.

Over my journey thus far with TP I wouldn’t have had these opportunities without TP investing in my own development and growth. Teaching Personnel recognise hard work and commitment and ensure you’re heard and acknowledged.

I joined Teaching Personnel as a trainee recruitment consultant back in August 2016.  I’ve climbed up the career ladder to become the Branch Manager South Wales SEN. If you’re looking for a supportive management team & progression – then look no further. Teaching Personnel take the time to get to know you and what your ambitions are in both your personal and professional lives. Ambitions become a reality.
